REBLOG FOR EPICNESS: All Hallow's Read

Reblogged from Kaethe:
The Halloween Tree - Ray Bradbury

I, Batgrl, gleefully nominate the following for - hmmm, I don't know - Supreme Potentate of Oct 31st? Ruler of Halloween? Whatever office, I will vote Kaethe in, because I do indeed love this idea:

.....................................................

I want a day off just to read scary stories and eat candy. Why isn't Halloween a National Holiday? I promise to give everyone who rings my doorbell a scary book if I can have a day off.
.....................................................

Though I suppose this is not a surprise from me, as I've long celebrated 30 Days of Halloween since one day isn't enough. (I even have a phone app that counts down the year until Halloween.) Also I would have probably done a happy dance over receiving a book as a treat-or-treat. As a kid or now!

I'm only bummed that this year I'm away from home and thus forgot my copy of Bradbury's Halloween Tree. So I'll be rereading it as usual, only later in November.

Anyway, if you find Kaethe's idea equally delightful go over to her post and like it most massively. Because who wouldn't love a day off just to read and eat candy?! Now if we could just find a way to make that a law....
