Packing Always Means It's The "Choose Your Paper Option" Game!

So I've got a couple of plane rides tomorrow and most of my packing decisions seem to be book related.

1) I have tons of books to hand off to dad to read - but which ones? Is that really heavy Ackroyd hardback going to rate an extra luggage fee if I go over the weight limit? How many other books can I stuff into my checked bag and still roll it around? (To be continued...well, only if this results in an amusing story.)

2) Choose Your Paper Option: which paperback to take on the plane as my Backup Book for when I'm forced to turn off my ereader? I'm taking Kabuliwala's Bengali Wife by Sushmita Bandyopadhyay (I still don't understand why that book seems to be so hard to find. I suspect there may be a story there.)

3) A friend gave me an Amazon gift certificate, and even though I have SO many unread ebooks already, I've decided I just have to spend it all on more ebooks. Because they'll never need packing! I've told myself I'm going to wait until I get to my destination to shop but of course I'm dying to do that now...

4) I'm almost done with two of my current reads - if I can just grab an hour or so reading time tonight. Somehow I'm doubting this will happen. But it'd be a waste to take them along if I have less than a chapter to go...
