Once I discovered that the Red Velvet Mite has nothing to do with Red Velvet cake (well, you never know, there are lots of mites around the place), that Oatmeal comic reminded me of a book I love: Dr Tatiana's Sex Advice to All Creation. The content is written as a series of advice columns - on that link I quoted two of them, one in particular about an orgy of mites going on inside an ear. Which is what I always think about now when someone mentions mites, and I'm never able to explain why I'm smiling because in real life there are no hyperlinks as explanations.
